Chapter 2

♡ Happy Reading ♡

Author's POV

As the first rays of dawn stretched across the sky, the vibrant streets of Singapore began to stir. The city’s skyline gleamed in the early morning light, and a sleek black Porsche 911 purred to a stop in front of GEMIFY COMPANY.

Yash Singh Rajput stepped out, his presence as striking as his tailored suit that clung to his athletic frame. With a chiseled jaw, piercing honey brown eyes, and an air of undeniable arrogance, he drew eyes wherever he went. His entrance was flanked by a pair of imposing bodyguards, their silent watchfulness adding to his commanding aura.

The lobby fell into a reverent hush as Yash walked in. The receptionist, momentarily stunned, managed a hushed, "Good morning, Sir" Her voice was almost lost in the silence that greeted his arrival.

Yash gave a brief, acknowledging nod, striding purposefully toward the private elevator. The sea of employees parted instinctively, their whispered conversations and furtive glances paying homage to his dominance. In the mirrored confines of the elevator, he adjusted his tie with a precision that mirrored his focus. His mind was a whirlwind of strategies and ambitions, each step calculated for maximum impact.

The elevator doors opened on the executive floor, where his personal assistant, a sharp-eyed and impeccably dressed man, awaited him. "Sir, the presentation is ready," he reported with calm efficiency.

"Perfect," Yash replied, his voice a low, authoritative growl.

As he entered his office, the usual buzz of activity ceased, replaced by an almost reverent silence. His domain, a vast office with panoramic views of the city, was a testament to his success and unyielding ambition. Yash paused behind his desk, framed by the glittering skyline, taking a moment to absorb the sight.

This was his empire, built on shrewd deals and relentless pursuit of excellence. The city below mirrored his own drive—vibrant, ambitious, and alive. Sitting down, he leaned back, a smirk playing on his lips. The weight of his responsibilities felt like a comfortable mantle, a symbol of his hard-won power.

Today, like every day, was his to conquer. And with every decision, every strategic move, he would cement his legacy, one formidable business deal at a time.

Yash POV

"So, should we consider this deal finalized, Mr. Rajput?" Mr. Richard asked me, seeking confirmation.

"Yeah, sure, of course, the deal has been finalized. We really liked your idea. So, let's move forward with the deal. But just a word of caution-if there's any betrayal on your part, the consequences won't be pleasant." I mentioned it with a sly smile.

"No, no, nothing like that will happen. Don't worry," Mr. Richard replied, slightly concerned.

Then they left from there.

I was working on my laptop when suddenly I heard a knock on the door. In my usual calm voice, I said, 'Come in.'

As soon as I said 'Come in', that idiot barged in. Well, it's no one else, just my best friend Kabir. He's been my childhood friend whom I can blindly trust. He's always been by my side through thick and thin, never leaving me alone.

"Hello janemaan, kya kar rahe hai aap?" he asked me in a flirty tone.

"Janemaan? Kaun janemaan!?" I asked him, clearly puzzled.

("Darling? Who's 'darling'?")

"Hawww?? Tujhe nahi pata?? Arehh tu mere janeman...." Kabir told me with his fake tears.

("What? Don't you know? Oh, you're my darling,")

"Mein tera janemaan?? Pagal hai kya?? Tera sir kya ghutno par chala gaya hai?" I retorted to him.

("Me, your darling? Are you crazy? Has your head gone to your knees?")

Agar wo Miss modeler I mean Natasha tujhe Yash baby bol sakti hai toh mei kiu tujhe janemaan nahi bol sakta?Kabir remarked, as if stating a fact.

("If Miss Modeler, I mean Natasha, can call you 'Yash baby,' then why can't I call you 'darling'?")

"Kabir, don't joke around unnecessarily. I'm already under a lot of work pressure, and on top of that, you're joking like this. If you have something important to discuss, please say it quickly. If not, then leave, and come back later when I'm free," I told Kabir firmly.

"Why are you getting so worked up? Just a little joke, relaxx. Let it go. By the way, when do you plan to return to India? I mean, you've been in Singapore for 9 years now! I thought you were coming for further studies, but then you started handling the company. Everything is fine, but at least consider going back to India now. You have your home, your family there. Everyone misses you," Kabir told me this, and then left abruptly.

"How can I not miss my home? I remember the taste of my mother's cooking, my father, brother, Uncle, Aunt and my Lil sis. I miss them all. I'll go home very soon. I miss my Rajasthan," I said to myself, feeling nostalgic.

"Now, focus on work, Yash!!! " I told myself, then continued with my tasks.

After reminiscing about my family, I decided to take a break from work and call my mother back in Rajasthan. I dialed her number and waited anxiously for her to pick up.

"Hello, Ma?" I said warmly as soon as she answered the phone.

"Yash, beta! It's so good to hear from you. How are you, my dear?" She replied with a hint of joy in her voice.

"I'm doing well, Ma. Just caught up with work here in Singapore," I replied, trying to sound upbeat despite the longing he felt for home.

"Are you taking care of yourself, beta? Eating properly and not working too hard?" She asked me, her concern evident.

"Yes, Ma, I'm taking care of myself. But I miss home, Ma. I miss all of you," I admitted, his voice tinged with emotion.

"We miss you too, beta. Everyone here talks about you all the time. When will you come back to visit us?" She inquired gently.

"I promise I'll come soon, Ma. Maybe in a few weeks when I can take some time off," I reassured her, feeling a sense of comfort in hearing my mother's voice.

"Take care of yourself, Yash. Remember, family is always here for you, no matter where you are," She said lovingly.

"I will, Ma. Love you," I replied with a smile, feeling a sense of warmth from her words.

After finishing my work for the day, I headed to the modeling set where Natasha was working. I waited patiently until she finished her shoot, admiring her grace and beauty as she posed for the camera. When Natasha finally wrapped up, she came towards me with a smile on her face.

"Hey, beautiful," I greeted her with a warm smile and gave her a peck on her lips, and held out the bouquet of tulips which is her favorite "These are for you."

Natasha's eyes lit up with delight as she accepted the flowers and kissed me back. "Thank you, babe! They're gorgeous."

"So, How was your day?" I asked her,

"It was good, just a bit tiring. What about you?" She wrapped her right with my left , and we entered the lift After leaving there we went to the elevator

"Work was busy, as usual. But I'm glad to see you," I said, my heart racing with excitement.

"Love! Are you ready for a surprise?" I asked her with a mischievous grin.

Natasha's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Surprise? sounds wonderful! I'm always up for one!"

I whisked Natasha away in the car, the city lights twinkling around us as we drove to a secluded spot by the waterfront. A beautiful table was set up under a canopy of fairy lights, overlooking the shimmering waters of the bay.

"Yash, this is incredible!" Natasha exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight.

"Wait.... did you do all of this yourself?" Natasha asked me in astonishment.

"Yes...I wanted tonight to be special," i replied, being shy scratching my back neck, my gaze fixed on her

As we enjoyed a gourmet meal, I couldn't contain my feelings any longer. Taking Natasha's hand in mine. My heart is racing with anticipation.

"Natasha, there's something important I wanted to talk to you about," I began, taking a deep breath.

Natasha looked at me with a mix of curiosity and anticipation. "What is it, Yash?"

I reached across the table, taking Natasha's hand in mine. "I love you, Natasha. You bring so much joy into my life, and I cherish every moment we spend together. From the moment we met, you've filled my days with laughter, warmth, and love. I can't imagine my future without you by my side. Today, I want to ask you something more profound than words can express. Natasha, will you marry me?"

Natasha gasped with surprise, her eyes widened, a mix of emotions flickering across her face. "Yash, this is unexpected..."

My heart skipped a beat, but I held Natasha's gaze with unwavering determination. "I know it's sudden, but I've never been more sure about anything in my life. I want to spend my future with you."

Natasha took a moment to collect her thoughts before a soft smile graced her lips. "Yes, Yash. I love you too. it's a dream come true... I have waited for this moment"

Relief and joy washed over me as I slid the ring onto Natasha's finger. She leaned in, her arms enveloping me in a warm embrace.

I pulled her close, feeling a rush of happiness and relief. The world seemed to fade away as we danced under the moonlight.

Pulling her close to my heart, I whispered in her ear, "I've missed you every moment I've been away."

Natasha smiled, her eyes glistening with tears of joy. "I've missed you too, Yash. But now, we have forever."

Natasha looked up at me with adoration. "I can't believe this is real. I love you so much, Yash."

I smiled down at her, my eyes filled with love. "And I love you, Natasha. You make everything feel perfect."

As we finished our dinner, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the day's events-the heartfelt conversation with my mother and now, the promise of a future with the woman I loved. I looked forward to returning to Rajasthan soon, not just to visit family, but to share the news of my proposal and begin planning for the next chapter of my life.

Author's POV

Yash felt a surge of excitement and nerves as he dialed Kabir's number the next day, eager to share the news of his proposal to Natasha. Despite the distance, Kabir was always the first person he turned to for advice and support.

"Hey Kabir, you won't believe what happened last night," Yash exclaimed, unable to contain his enthusiasm.

Kabir's voice crackled through the phone. "What's up, Yash? You sound thrilled. Did something happen?"

"I proposed to Natasha," Yash announced proudly, his heart racing with anticipation.

There was a brief pause on the other end before Kabir responded. "Natasha? Are you serious, Yash? Are you sure about this?"

Yash's excitement dimmed slightly at Kabir's tone. "Yes, Kabir. I'm absolutely sure. She means everything to me."

Kabir sighed. "Look, Yash, I've always supported you, but I have my doubts about Natasha. I don't think she's the right match for you. You should reconsider this."

Yash's brows furrowed. "What do you mean, Kabir? Natasha and I are great together. And we have been in a relationship for 5 years...everything is going perfect between us...both of us are comfortable, and we understand each other, and most importantly we love each other."

"I know you care about her, but think this through. Are you sure she's the one for you?" Kabir persisted, his concern evident.

Yash took a deep breath, trying to remain composed. "Yes, we've talked about it. Now I want to make things official and start our life together."

Kabir hesitated before responding. "Okay, Yash. I trust you. Just make sure you're doing what's best for you. And no matter what, I am always there for you."

"But, tell me, how did Natasha manage to win you over and get you so deeply in love with her? First dating, then a relationship, and now marriage! Strange...I mean, you always kept your distance from girls... half the girls in the world have a crush on you.... maybe Natasha used some kind of magic spell on you" Kabir joked with Yash, raising an eyebrow mischievously.

Yash chuckled, grateful for Kabir's support despite his reservations. "Thanks, Kabir. Umm I don't know when or how I fell in love... but one thing's for sure, she is the one

By the way, I have some great news. I've decided to return to Rajasthan permanently."

Kabir's surprise was palpable through the phone. "What!? Really? That's amazing news, Yash! When are you planning to tell your parents about the proposal?"

"I'm going to share everything with them once I return. I want them to be a part of this journey," Yash replied, feeling a sense of relief at his decision.

Kabir's voice softened. "I'm happy for you, Yash. Just make sure you're doing what makes you truly happy."

Yash smiled, grateful for Kabir's unwavering support despite their differences of opinion. "Thank you, Kabir. Your support means everything to me. I'm really grateful to have you as a friend."

As they continued their conversation, Yash couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future-a new chapter awaiting him in Rajasthan, alongside the woman he loved.

The next day, Yash's determination and excitement carried him through a successful business meeting, where he confidently negotiated and closed another lucrative deal for the company. With his mind focused on the future, he made arrangements to transition the management responsibilities to one of his trusted senior managers, ensuring a smooth handover before his departure.

Later that evening, Yash met Natasha at a quaint cafe, eager to share his latest decision.

"Natasha, I have something important to discuss with you," Yash began, his eyes sparkling with a mix of anticipation and resolve.

Natasha looked up from her coffee, her expression curious. "What is it, Yash? You seem tense."

"I've made up my mind. I'm returning to India," Yash declared, his voice filled with determination.

Natasha's eyes widened in surprise. "India? When? And why so sudden?"

Yash looked at Natasha earnestly. "Tomorrow. Are you okay with this?"

Natasha hesitated, her brow furrowing slightly. "Umm, okay, but why so sudden? Oh, wait, are you going to tell them about us?"

Yash nodded. "Yes, I think it's the right time now. If you're fine with it, we will make this official. We've known each other so well... been in a relationship for 5 years now. I don't want to wait any longer to make our relationship official."

Natasha's expression softened, but she still seemed apprehensive. "It's a big decision, Yash. Are you sure about this? What will be their reaction? Will they accept our relationship?"

Yash's eyes twinkled with assurance. "You don't need to worry about that. Ma will be the happiest. She already adores you. There won't be any problems regarding our relationship."

Overcome with emotion, Natasha leaned into Yash, wrapping her arms around him and planting a kiss on his neck. "I can't believe we've come this far. I am so excited to meet them. I love you, Ash baby."

Yash chuckled affectionately. "I love you too, babe."

As they finished their conversation, Yash couldn't help but feel a surge of optimism for the future-a return to his roots, a reunion with family, and a promising journey ahead with Natasha by his side.
